Zen Port for Metabones Adaptors and Canon 100mm Macro Lenses on Sony APS-C Mirrorless Cameras
Sony NEX/Alpha Camera systems provide outstanding image quality in a tiny package, but the E system lens lineup doesn't offer many choices that cater to the underwater photographer interested in macro images.
Adaptors from Metabones allow Canon EF and EF-S lenses to be mounted on the NEX series cameras, and support camera controlled aperture and autofocus. FP-MBC100 is compatible with both Metabones Speedbooster and Adaptor. Speedbooster is an optic that widens a lenses field of view, and increases its maximum aperture. This isn't a particularly beneficial feature for macro work, but can be useful with wider angle lenses or for topside work. When used with speedbooster a 100mm /2.8 Macro lens becomes a 71mm /2.0, and that can reach .71:1 magnification. The standard Metabones Adaptor is a better choice for use with macro lenses, and is recommended for use with this port.
The port comes configured for use with the Metabones Adaptor, but it can be modified upon request for use with the Metabones Speedbooster.
The centering ring for the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro Lens is included. The centering ring for the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens must be purchase separately.
The FP-MBC100 port system is built around ergonomic focus control. While the Metabones Adapter allows autofocus, the speed and accuracy of the system with long macro lenses isn't superb. A mechanical focus control allows the precise focusing required when shooting macro at 1:1, or past it with high magnification super macro accessories.
This focus control is designed to be used with Nauticam focus gears for Canon 100mm /2.8L IS (#19523) and Canon EF 100mm /2.8 USM (#19522), sold separately.
FP-MBC100 consists of a port base that includes focus control, and a port front dedicated to the 100mm macro lenses. A optional port front is available that allows Canon EF-S 60mm Macro to be used as well.

The port system features a 67mm threaded lens port, allowing super macro accessories like Nauticam's SMC-1 or the Reefnet Subsee +10 to be used for extra magnification
